Kerala student completing an online educational assistance application at home

Kerala’s e-Grantz 3.0 portal is the centralised online system used to process various educational assistance schemes for eligible SC, ST, OBC and other notified student categories in the state.

The portal supports pre-matric and post-matric schemes and enables eligible assistance to be transferred through Direct Benefit Transfer, subject to verification and sanction.

What is e-Grantz 3.0?

e-Grantz is an online scholarship-disbursement system operated through Kerala’s Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Backward Classes Development departments.

A student’s basic profile can be used to identify schemes for which the student may be eligible. Institutions can also assist with application entry where the student is unable to complete the online process.

Information needed for one-time registration

  • Aadhaar number
  • Name as shown in Aadhaar
  • Mobile number
  • Date of birth
  • Email address
  • Password

The portal uses Aadhaar-based identity verification for scholarship processing. Students should enter only their own accurate information.

How to complete one-time registration

  1. Open the official e-Grantz website.
  2. Select “One Time Registration.”
  3. Enter the Aadhaar number and the student’s name exactly as recorded in Aadhaar.
  4. Complete Aadhaar authentication and consent.
  5. Provide the mobile number, date of birth and email address.
  6. Create and confirm a password.
  7. Submit the registration.
  8. Sign in using the registered email address or Aadhaar number and password.

Complete the student profile

After registration, sign in and complete the five-stage profile process described by the portal. Check personal information, address, community details, bank-account information, institution and course information carefully.

After submitting the profile, use “Add Qualification” to enter the required educational qualifications.

Apply for the correct scheme

Completing the profile does not automatically submit a scholarship application. Open “Apply for Scholarship–Post Matric” and choose an eligible scheme from the displayed list. A separate application may be required for each scholarship. Download or print the acknowledgement after submission.

Bank account and Aadhaar verification

Because assistance is transferred through DBT, check that the account is active, the account number and IFSC are correct and Aadhaar seeding or NPCI mapping is complete when required.

Aadhaar linking with a bank and NPCI mapping are related but not always identical. Applicants facing payment problems should verify the mapping status through their bank or the method specified by the department.

How to track an application

Use the “Track Application” option on the e-Grantz portal. The system requests the student’s Aadhaar number and date of birth. Monitor the status regularly because an application may be returned for correction or additional verification.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Entering a name different from Aadhaar records.
  • Selecting the wrong institution or course.
  • Uploading unreadable certificates.
  • Providing an inactive bank account.
  • Assuming registration alone completes the application.
  • Missing institution-level verification.
  • Waiting until the final day to apply.
