Introduction
Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET), conducted by Anna University, for admission to MBA, MCA, M.E/M.Tech/M.Arch/M.Plan programmes in Tamil Nadu offered at Universty Departments of Anna University Chennai, Anna University Coimbatore, Anna University Trichy, Anna University Tirunelveli, Govt. Engineering, Arts and Science Colleges, Govt. Aided Engineering, Arts & Science Colleges, and Govt. Quota seats in self-financing Engineering and Arts & Science Colleges / standalone Institutions. Apart from these institutes some Universities and Self–Financing Engineering Colleges may also opt to admit the students on the basis of TANCET for their quota of seats. TANCET is not limited to candidates of Tamil Nadu only, but admission will be subject to fulfillment of the eligibility conditions of the admitting authority.
Eligibility Criteria:
MBA
For applying to the MBA Degree Programme, the candidate must have a recognized Bachelor’s degree from any discipline in the 10+2+3/4 pattern or 10+3(Diploma)+3 pattern.
MCA
For applying to the MCA Degree Programme, the candidate must have a recognized Bachelor’s degree of minimum three years duration (10+2+3 years pattern) with Mathematics at +2 level or must have a recognized Bachelor’s degree with Mathematics/Statistics as one of the subjects, of three years duration
M.E. / M.Tech / M.Arch. / M.Plan
For applying to the M.E./M.Tech/M.Arch./M.Plan, the candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in B.E./B.Tech/B.Arch/B.Plan
However candidates who are appearing in the final year of the qualifying examination are also eligible to appear in the Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test 2010.
TANCET Application Procedure
à The TANCET application form can be obtained either in person on payment of Rs. 300/- by cash or D.D. (Rs150 for Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates) from the co-ordinating centers or selected branches of State Bank of India.
à It can also be obtained through post by sending a demand draft of Rs. 350/- (Rs. 200/- in case of Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates) along with a requisition letter and self-addressed slip to the Secretary, TANCET Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai 600 025.
àCandidates can also register through Internet by logging on to www.annauniv.edu/tancet2010
For every additional Programme, candidates need to enclose an additional demand draft of Rs. 300 (Rs. 150 for Tamil Nadu SC/ST candidates).
The duly filled application form should reach the Secretary, TANCET Examination Centre, Anna University Chennai- 600 025.
TANCET Centres
The Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test will be held at Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, Salem, Trichy, Tirunelveli and Vellore.

Deadline for submission of application forms is 3rd week of April, 2010
The entrance exam will be held at the end of May, 2010
